Years ago my neph played for USM w/ Bret Favre, and roomed with his little brother.

When he started lighting it up, he told them that all he had to do was stay healthy and perform for one more year, then his contract would mean that he would never have to work again.

OTOH LSU QB Jamarcus Russell signed a $60 mil contract w/ 30 mil guaranteed. Not only did he flop, he managed to go broke.

I suspect Gurley is now on cruise, able to play and enjoy w/ financial worries forever behind him.
